My favourite of all the classics...
How to Win Friends and Influence People is old and the stories are out of date. However under the old-fashioned vernier is sold quality. The wisdom of this book and Dale's teaching is simple:
Be yourself Do unto others as you would have them do unto you (heard that one before) Always look for the good And the best of all - "Be hearty in your approbation and lavish in your praise"
Win without a fight; if you must fight, be assured of victory before you commence battle...
This book is the oldest of all but has such classic strategy that generals have been using it since it was complied.
Now business people look to it to assure victory in the modern corporate world. In the movie Wall Street Gordon Gecko says, “I don't throw darts at a board. I bet on sure things. Read Sun-tzu, The Art of War. Every battle is won before it is ever fought.”

Read and re-read this - and act on it!
Page 38 in my paperback copy is my favourite bit;where we are told to write down our goals. Surely the best advice of all and surprising how many people don't bother.
With no written goal what are you really aiming for? With no target how can we be sure of hitting the bull's eye? Napoleon shows us how to start with goals; figure out what we will give up to get them; then he show us that we must keep on at it until we reach them.
